When we headed out on our road trip my son had no idea where we were going. It was a surprise!
I didn't want to tell him because I wasn't really sure if it was going to work out. I told him we were going to go shopping at the mall which is 21/2 hours from where we live. So when we go, we make it count!
We headed out on the open road while singing our favorite songs. It was nice it just being the two of us!
I looked over at my son and he was singing like he was having a concert...he had his eyes closed at certain times and his and held up like a microphone! But I wasn't judging because when it was my turn to put my fave music in I am sure he wanted to jump out of the car going 70!
We stopped about 1 hour from our destination at one of our favorite places Sammy's! It is a hole in the wall burger joint that makes the most awesome burgers and shakes with cupcakes! Yep cupcakes! They have a different theme every night of the week ie. kareoke, comedians, bands and it is awesome! We stayed and watched the entertainment for about an hour before we headed back out on the road againAs we merged onto the freeway Chucky turned to me and said, "When are we going to stop and do our shopping?" I didn't know what to say, as that was not the real reason for going. I told him that there was a new mall that had some awesome shops and that's where I wanted to go as it was right by the place we were really going!
I didn't even think about hurrying that our destination would be packed! Trying to get off the freeway was like a zoo! Traffic was backed up and time was getting near! I have to admit that I was starting to get nervous! We inched and inched our way to get there and my son finally looked at me and said, "I think you missed the turn to the mall mom!" I parked got out of the car and I told him what we were doing. "Bug, I didn't mean to lie to you, but we aren't going to the mall, we are going to the Justin Beiber Concert!"
He started freaking out and jumping up and down. He wanted to go so bad but my cancer came back and I ended up needing more treatments and not to mention the tickets were way out of my budget! I thought all hope was lost until one of my friends had 2 extra tickets and was practically giving them away!
We had a great time! I started dancing and my son turned and said, "Mom, please DON'T do that!" I was thinking to myself: "What?" "Your a cool mom, you brought your son to the Justin Beiber concert!" but I respected his wishes and just watched him have a great time! He didn't sit down once. I took photos before the concert and after. In the before, he was dry and in the after he was soaken wet!
